Clutch assembly procedure:
Before fitting the new clutch disc, it is important to check its axial runout. This may be max. 0.5 mm. Higher values may cause dragging.
Afterwards, the splined hub of the clutch disc and the primary shaft of the transmission must be lightly greased all around with high-performance grease (temperature-resistant and able to withstand high surface loads). Now, the clutch disc will be able to move easily back and forth along the primary drive shaft and the excess grease must be removed from both the splined hub and the primary drive shaft.
After all, if too much grease is used, centrifugal forces will carry it to the friction linings of the clutch disc during operation. Contaminated linings in this way will cause the clutch to jerk or slip during driving.
It is possible to physically mount the clutch in both positions, but it is important to know that only one of the positions is correct. Even sometimes by mounting the disc upside down, the vehicle may appear to be able to operate correctly in the short to medium term.
This operation is not real, as incorrect assembly will eventually lead to mechanical problems in the vehicle, and may even cause the disc itself or the thrust bearing to break.
It is very important to respect the correct position of the clutch disc to avoid mechanical damage.
The easiest way to do this is to locate the word on the clutch discs indicating its position;
